Course Overview

This immersive one day workshop invites guests to slow down, reconnect with the land, and rediscover plants as allies for everyday health. Rooted in permaculture principles and traditional herbal medicine, ‘Herbs and the Living Classroom’ blends hands‑on learning, sensory exploration, and practical skills that participants can carry into daily life.

Based on the land at Quinta Shiva, the workshop utilises the surrounding landscape as a living classroom, highlighting medicinal, culinary, and wild plants that thrive in Mediterranean and Atlantic Portuguese climates.

What participants will learn:

• What herbalism is, and how home herbalism differs from clinical herbalism

• How to identify seasonal medicinal plants growing on the land
